Mt. Kenya & The Mara

To capture the true spirit of East Africa, there is nothing quite like the experience of a rugged dusty road safari. This tour includes two nights at the Sweetwater tented Camp, as well as a visit to the Private rhino and chimpanzee sanctuary, on the foots of Mt. Kenya Night-time Game Drives can be arranged to view animals not normally seen during daylight hours. Later, cross the equator and drive through the heart of the Rift Valley to lake Nakuru, which is one of Kenya’s most famous soda lakes. The key feature of this park is the bird life, particularly the thousands of Flamingos, which create a shimmering pink hue over the lake. A rhino sanctuary also provides the opportunity to see the greatly endangered Black Rhino. We will continue our safari by descending the floor of the Great Rift Valley and on into the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Mara Reserve is the richest game sanctuary in Kenya, the great expanse of plains set against the distant hills provide a unique backdrop from which to enjoy the magnificent wildlife.
